KITCHENS

KITCHEN 55: Tile Art Design provided tile design and installation services, and we furnished the Motawi Tileworks Field Tiles and Art Tiles for this renovated kitchen. Madison, WI, 2023.

KITCHEN 54: Tile Art Design provided the mosaic design and installation services, and furnished tiles for this Bungalow kitchen backsplash. Middleton, WI, 2022.

Inspired by the Tiffany Lamp hanging over their dining room table, our client requested that we design a custom border and backsplash for their newly renovated kitchen. The border incorporated new Syzygy Tile mosaic shapes that connected with the stained glass pieces in the lamp. We collaborated with our client in the details of the design, and in the selection of the glaze colors. We also ensured that the electrician installed the outlets within the field tiles, so they would not interrupt the mosaic border.

KITCHEN 53: Tile Art Design provided design services and furnished the tiles for this kitchen backsplash, as well as for their fireplace. Installed in 2021.

“We are so happy with the tiles you helped us select and design…We are so thankful to have found you. You had the most beautiful, high quality tile selections we had seen in our two years of searching. You were so helpful to us throughout the whole process of selecting, designing, and following up to make sure we were happy with everything. Our tiles are a favorite characteristic of our new home. The backsplash and fireplace turned out beautiful for our Craftsman style home. The acorn relief tiles were a wonderful choice. They fit the theme of our home, nestled in the woods full of oak trees.” Rebecca & Michael H., Wausau WI

KITCHEN 52: Tile Art Design collaborated with our client to create the circular mandala shapes and the arched border mosaic for the floor. We also created the custom mosaic border for the kitchen backsplash, and selected glaze colors to coordinate with the retro cabinets and appliances in this renovated kitchen. Our client furnished the custom switch plate covers and outlets to match the glaze colors of the backsplash tiles. We furnished the tiles, and provided design, mosaic assembly, and installation services in 2019.

“I love working with you. You listen to your customers. You are easy to work with…Tile Art Design works…to get the look that the customer wants. We have done two large projects, and one small one with Tile Art Design, and we are very happy with the results. I HIGHLY recommend TileArt LLC.” Margaret R. & John S., Madison WI

KITCHEN 51: Tile Art Design provided mosaic design and installation services, and furnished tiles for our client who requested that we design a colorful, whimsical, and fun backsplash behind their stove to connect with the colors in their kitchen rugs and the trompe l'oeil mural in their powder room. They loved a concept board in our studio, showing this random mosaic pattern of 1” glazed ceramic handmade dots. We collaborated with them on the selection of glaze colors, and then the tiles were ordered based upon the percentage of each glaze color to be in the pattern. Then we laid out the mosaic, applied clear tape to the surface, and marked the tape with black lines so that adjoining sheets would line up during installation. The images below show the mural on the powder room walls, and then the mosaic before and during the installation process. Maple Bluff, WI, 2022.

KITCHEN 50: Tile Art Design collaborated with our client on details in the design for their kitchen backsplash. They requested that we create a pattern related to the Fibonacci Sequence, with spirals composed of glossy, brightly colored squares and rectangles. We furnished glass tiles, and then assembled and mapped out mosaic pattern. We also furnished glazed porcelain 8” hexagon tiles for their renovated kitchen floor, and provided a design that ended with an irregular edge as the hex pattern connected with wood floors. We installed the backsplash and floor in Madison, WI, in 2020.

KITCHEN 49: Tile Art Design created this custom mosaic design, provided installation services, and furnished the glass tiles. Madison, WI, 2000.

KITCHEN 48: Tile Art Design provided design services in collaboration with our client, who was the builder of this new home. KITCHEN 45: Tile Art Design collaborated with our client for this organic, transitional kitchen backsplash, based upon our previous Tile Art Design kitchen #43. They liked the idea of a river flowing, with the addition of “sand bars” in the focal point above the range. We furnished handmade tile materials, made in the USA, and provided installation services.

“Your creative eye and insight about our personalities made our backsplash great fun. You captured our love of water and nature with a stunning river that meandered across the walls - green foreground, wet sandy shore, gorgeous shades of blue water, wheat colored grasses, and sky. We worked together on the exact meandering path, added a converging waterway behind the stove and restful sandbars. The installer was a talented artist, as well, and you both worked together seamlessly. We love how the tiles come to life in different light, including exquisite late afternoon sun. Even after several years, it still brings us great joy. Being in a place of beauty is nourishing. We never imagined so much joy staring at a wall while cutting vegetables!” Nichole & Cory S., Monona WI 2018

KITCHEN 44: Tile Art Design collaboratively designed this organic, transitional kitchen backsplash, with the request from our client for a flowing pattern resembling Claude Monet’s Water-Lily Pond paintings. Once we introduced them to these tiles, they decided to emphasize the flowing nature of a river, rather than a pond with floating lily pads. We also furnished the handmade tile materials, and provided installation services. Fitchburg, WI, 2018.
